Healing Is Not a Destination — It’s a Daily Practice of Self-Connection

When you start your healing journey, it’s easy to imagine a future version of yourself — completely healed, full of energy, calm, and thriving. You might picture a time when all your symptoms disappear, your emotions feel steady, and everything flows with ease.

That version of “healed” sounds lovely… but it’s not the full story.

Healing isn’t a destination you arrive at one day. It’s not a box to tick off or a level to achieve.
It’s a daily, moment-by-moment practice.

If You’re Still Struggling, It Doesn’t Mean You’re Failing

Maybe you’ve been doing all the “right” things — nourishing your body, moving in ways that feel good, working through your emotional patterns, setting boundaries. But still… you get sick again. Or exhausted. Or anxious. Or reactive.

You might wonder, “Why am I still here?” or “Haven’t I done enough work?”

It’s natural to feel discouraged. The old programming might pop up, suggesting you’re not trying hard enough or that you need to find the next supplement, cleanse, or program to finally fix everything.

But the truth is:
You’re not failing.
You’re not broken.
You’re healing — even on the messy days.

Healing is often more like a spiral than a straight line. You’re always moving forward, even when it feels like you’ve circled back to an old wound or pattern. Unlike a loop that goes round and round with no change, a spiral carries you upward. So while you might find yourself revisiting a familiar emotion, reaction, or trigger, you’re meeting it from a new place — with more awareness, more tools, and more self-compassion than before. It’s not the same as last time. You’ve grown. You’ve shifted. And that’s the quiet progress of true healing.

The Myth of “Being Healed”

There’s a widespread belief that once you’re healed, you’ll never feel unwell or emotionally off again. That you’ll be calm, regulated, energised, and emotionally balanced all the time.

But that idea is rooted in perfectionism, not reality.

Real healing means:

  • You know how to tune into your body’s signals

  • You make choices from a place of awareness rather than fear

  • You catch yourself when old patterns creep in — and respond with care

  • You trust yourself, even when things feel hard

That is the essence of healing. It’s not about never feeling off. It’s about knowing how to meet yourself when you do.

Look How Far You’ve Come

Let me tell you about a client of mine — we’ll call her Anna.

Anna came to me after years of running on empty. She had two young kids, a job she didn’t love, and a body that was screaming for rest. She’d tried so many things — restrictive diets, intense exercise, expensive protocols — but nothing made her feel whole.

When we began working together, Anna started noticing things she’d never paid attention to before — the tightness in her chest when she ignored her needs, the drop in energy after overcommitting, the grief she carried from pushing herself for so long.

She started making small, loving changes:

  • Going for slow walks instead of forcing workouts.

  • Eating foods that supported her cycle.

  • Practicing Emotion Release Technique when overwhelm bubbled up.

Three months in, Anna still had off days — but she no longer saw them as setbacks. She saw them as signals. Her whole relationship with her body had changed. She had changed.

And chances are, so have you.

Think back to where you started. There was probably a time when you didn’t even know your body was speaking to you. When rest felt like laziness. When symptoms were just something to silence.

But now? You’re paying attention. You’re learning. You’re showing up for yourself.
That’s healing.

And if its not feeling easier then maybe you need to learn about the missing piece of your health puzzle.

Healing Is A Daily Practice

You don’t have to be “finished” to be considered healed.

Healing is something you live, not something you achieve. It can look like:

  • Choosing nourishing food because it makes you feel steady and clear

  • Taking a break without guilt

  • Letting yourself cry without explaining why

  • Using the tools from Nourishment Gateway or a past ERT session when old patterns show up

  • Listening to your cycle or circadian rhythm and adjusting accordingly

Healing is in the way you meet yourself each day — with presence, kindness, and honesty.

You’re Already Healing

You don’t need to wait until everything is perfect to call yourself healed.

Healing is happening every time you respond with awareness instead of autopilot.
Every time you pause instead of push.
Every time you honour your body’s whisper instead of silencing it.

And yes, there may be more layers to explore, more wounds to soothe, more beliefs to release.
But that doesn’t take away from what you’ve already done.

You’re not behind.
You’re not starting over.
You’re right on time.

If you’re feeling ready for deeper support, I’d love to walk alongside you — through one-on-one Emotion Release Technique sessions or inside Nourishment Gateway, where you’ll find guidance, practices, and a grounded path back to yourself.

You’re already healing — one conscious choice at a time.
